Where the numbers come from: rates are pulled live from a public exchange-rate feed and refreshed each time the page loads. They reflect the mid-market rate — the midpoint between what buyers and sellers are quoting, and the figure you'd see quoted in the news. What a bank or an airport kiosk actually gives you will be worse, sometimes by several percent, because the spread and any fees come out of that. Treat these as the honest baseline to measure an offer against rather than the number you'll walk away with.
