Roam has no accounts, no sign-up, and sets no tracking cookies. Your bookmarks, likes, visited history, streak, and preferences live in your own browser's local storage — they never leave your device and Roam's servers never see them. Clear your browser data and they're gone.
Roam is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested page) for operations and abuse prevention, as any web host does. Roam does not build profiles from these logs.
To show site previews, Roam loads screenshots from thum.io and favicons from Google's favicon service — your browser requests those images directly, so those services see the request as they would for any image on any page. Live mode fetches site suggestions through Roam's own server from public sources (Wikipedia, Hacker News, Lobsters, GitHub, Marginalia, the Internet Archive, the Met Museum, Project Gutenberg, Wiby); your browser only talks to Roam.
Sponsored cards in the discovery stream are always labeled. If display advertising is added in the future, the ad network's own policies will apply and this page will be updated before that happens.
Roam exists to send you to other websites. Once you leave, their privacy practices apply, not this page.
